ENOUGH is a Glasgow-based food tech startup that is producing a high scale, sustainable meat-free food protein, using ABUNDA® mycoprotein. They aim to tackle the combined issues of feeding a growing global population and the unsustainable impact of traditional protein farming.
ABUNDA mycoprotein is a fermented food ingredient, rich in protein and fibre. With nine essential amino acids, zinc and iron, ABUNDA is highly nutritious and fibrous in texture, giving it an outstanding meaty texture, naturally. ENOUGH grows ABUNDA mycoprotein, more sustainably and at a lower cost than other protein options.
Craig Johnston is co-founder and Director of Strategic Partnerships at ENOUGH. With support from the Shott Scale Up Accelerator, Craig has refined ENOUGH’s five-year plan and highlights the formal leadership training and mentoring as being key tools.
In August 2023, the team secured £34 million in Series C funding and as part of his growth plan, will prioritise increasing ENOUGH's capacity to 60,000 tonnes at its site in the Netherlands, exploring a second location and considering options for extra expansion, remaining a B2B producer and exploring product format and diversification opportunities.
The programme brought together a fantastic cohort with professional scale-up training and personal development. Through a combination of coaching and external training materials, I was able to develop strategy and grow personally.
