The Enterprise Hub is pleased to reveal the 14 ambitious engineering startup leaders joining the Shott Scale Up Accelerator. Together, they represent some of the UK’s most exciting SMEs, with innovations tackling societal challenges such as robotic technology to maintain wind turbines, to implantable neurotechnology to treat brain tumours.
The Shott Scale Up Accelerator will aid the growth of these high-growth potential SMEs, through the provision of leadership training and benefits for startup leaders. The scheme has been designed to cater for the individual needs of the leaders, providing the space for them to upskill, develop the confidence to tackle scaling challenges and to identify key areas for improvement.

The newest cohort of Shott Scale Up awardees with Senior Programme Manager, Cristina Lisii, and Programme Manager, Daniel Boggon.
Awardees will receive a suite of unrivalled training from the Enterprise Hub, including hybrid business support (virtual and in-person), workshops and roundtables, one-to-one personal development coaching and access to specialist mentoring from the Academy’s prestigious Fellowship. They will also receive a £10,000 training grant to use on external leadership courses of their choice in the UK or internationally.
Acceptance onto any of the Enterprise Hub’s entrepreneurship programmes means you become eligible to be a part of the Hub Member community. This is a lifetime membership that gives you access to a vast network of valuable connections, plus free entry to the Enterprise Hub’s Taylor Centre, a conveniently located space in central London available exclusively for Hub Members to use as a meeting or informal workspace.
Research has shown that strong leadership is essential for business growth. Since 2016 we have supported 140 startup leaders to scale their companies. Upon completing the programme, alumni have collectively raised £976 million in equity investment and have increased their business valuations by £1.76 billion in total.
Our alumni have achieved remarkable accomplishments since completing their programmes – Pierre Paslier and Rodrigo Gonzalez, co-founders and co-CEOs of seaweed-based bioplastic packaging company Notpla were announced as the 2022 Earthshot Prize winners. The prize is worth £1 million and is designed to recognise innovative solutions to global challenges.
Wenmiao Yu, Director of Business Development at Quantum Dice, was recently named as one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 Europe 2023 list in the technology category. She feels the support she received from the Shott Scale Up Accelerator was instrumental to her growth journey:

“The key business challenge that the Shott Scale Up Accelerator helped me to answer in my business, was in setting up clear and fair organisational structures in order to onboard our new employees. This was really critical because we were growing our team significantly over the course of the programme.
Alongside the taught courses, you also have access to a really diverse set of other cohort members and there’s always a lot to be learnt no matter what industry they operate in.”
Wenmiao Yu of Quantum Dice, Hub Member and former Shott Scale Up awardee

“It allowed me to reflect on my leadership skills and improve in areas that I wasn’t even aware of before. The mentoring and one-to-one coaching helped me to not only run ideas by my mentors and get an external, unbiased view on certain things, but also to benefit from their experiences and apply some of their wisdom to my own challenges where possible.”
Hami Bahraynian of Wluper, current EXPLORE awardee and former Shott Scale Up awardee
The next round of the Shott Scale Up Accelerator will open in April 2023. Visit the programme page for more information and how to apply.
