The problem:
Effective fluid handling is fundamental to manufacturing processes across many industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and petrochemicals. Being able to monitor fluid properties during production allows for better process control and product quality monitoring; and is a key enabler of fully automated ‘lights-out’ manufacturing.
The solution:
Our in-line or non-invasive fluid sensor technologies allow for low-cost and real-time monitoring of a variety of fluid properties that were previously uneconomical, impractical, or technologically unfeasible to measure. We will initially use our technology, which was originally developed at the University of Sheffield, for injection moulding polymer monitoring to improve the re-purposing of recycled plastics. It is intended that our first product will be market-ready in the next 18 months.
Traction:
We are currently working with partners to target sector-specific applications, with the intention of releasing our first serial product within 18 months.
