Mass production technologies are generally large, expensive, and complicated to run. Mayku scale these technologies down and make them incredibly simple to use. One example, the Multiplier, puts powerful pressure forming technologies on the desktop. This allows users to create prototypes and small batches of factory grade products locally, with little training, and using preexisting 3D printing workflows.
Benjamin Redford is the CPO (chief product officer) of Mayku with responsibility for research and development, product development, customer success, customer support, and hiring. He also heads up the marketing department.
Benjamin recognises that the Shott Scale Up Accelerator can help prepare himself for scaling and managing a growing team. He also highlights levelling up his technical financial skills as aa key skill he wants to develop on. He looks forward to making use of the Shott Scale Up Accelerator’s mentoring and notes: “I have often found through an informal network of mentors that the best of advice comes from people inside of my industry or adjacent that have done something of similar lines before”.
He also wants to explore getting more hands-on, direct experience of how companies and individuals that he deeply respects run their businesses in practice, how they have scale and have dealt with various crises. He recognises that the networking opportunities in the Shott Scale Up Accelerator can help to enable this.
Benjamin reflects that Mayku cannot focus on all the potential market areas they could address as they would be spread too thin. Their vision is to select and focus in on one of these key areas and expand deeply into it.
