uFraction8 have developed a highly efficient and scalable bio-separation solution to solve the problems with harvesting and processing cell cultures, starting with cultivated meat and developing into biopharmaceutical applications. The solution will help anyone producing with living cells to harvest more product from the same infrastructure with less energy, drastically reducing production cost. uFraction8's technology is ready for final tests at present and soon will be primed for commercial sales.
Monika Tomecka is a founding director of uFraction8 and is responsible for fundraising, customer relationships, overlooking every day operations, and leading the team. She reflects that “we have recently scaled up the team and it is time for me to really grow as a leader. I need my team to feel good working with me and with each other while being effective and focused at the same time”.
One benefit of the Shott Scale Up Accelerator is a grant to support training. Monika plans to attend courses to help her be a better leader for her team. She would like to learn more on how to delegate, negotiate, inspire, and communicate effectively. In the next 12 months uFraction8 plan to deliver an industrial size demonstration of the uFraction8 instrument, certify it, and start commercialisation as well as closing the current investment round. She notes that “there will many things to focus on”.
