Manufacturing currently accounts for half of the world’s energy use and a significant fraction of this, approximately 10% of global warming potential (GWP), is wasted. Industrial control systems can improve manufacturing efficiency and productivity but the current generation are too rigid to deal with the constant change they are currently subjected to, resulting in suboptimal performance.
Luffy have built a next generation Adaptive Artificial Intelligence (AI) framework which enables them to deploy Adaptive AI industrial control systems. These transformational control systems continuously self-optimise at the edge, enabling manufacturers to extract the maximum potential from their processes.
Dr Obadaj Zaher is Vice President of Product Management at Luffy AI, responsible for developing and driving our commercial and product strategies, directing product development teams, and business development for their new product exploration. As the business grows, he recognises the need for support to develop his skills in the areas of presenting/public speaking skills, leading with purpose and clarity, and fundraising and navigating board dynamics.
Using the Shott Scale Up Accelerator, Dr Zaher believes that: “both mentoring and coaching will be very useful for me to unlock my full potential as a leader and entrepreneur. The training and networking will be invaluable in bolstering my skillset and building relationships that will not only help me progress within my current organisation.”
The next key milestone for Luffy AI is proving true product–market fit in their two primary product lines. They have so far primarily been focusing on ‘new product exploration’ and Dr Zaher sees: “the transition to repeat sales and growth of existing product lines will be very exciting and a great learning experience.” The company is currently exploring the mining or the (industrial) marine industries as potential new industry verticals.
